Hey, everyone! I’m Josh Kirkwold. By day, I’m a venture capital finance lawyer, helping entrepreneurs form companies, negotiate commercial contracts, and draft financing documents as they raise funds from VCs and angel investors. Outside of work, I’m a huge football and basketball fan, love spending time with my family, and enjoy hanging out with my two golden retrievers. My passion for personal finance runs deep. I’ve spent years reading books and articles on the subject, which even led me to study wealth management law (taking classes like real estate transactions, secured transactions, wills and trusts, and individual income tax) in law school. Reasoned Reflections was born from a simple idea: people kept asking me personal finance questions, and I wanted to share what I’ve learned—both from research and real-life experience—with more people.
